More control, more stable landings, locked in feeling with the board.

But crashing in boots sucks, and they're heavier. Those are the reasons I switched back to straps, because I got hesistant to try new stuff because of the crashes, and developed an injury in the groin area because of the weight/impacts from crashing.

And taking a small break is easier done when in straps. Better for your hydration.
