For me I'd gladly take a little less consistent wind to be able to ride in amazingly blue water. It's a trade off for sure, but for me it's an easy choice. The Bahamas have so many unspoiled spots to explore, each visit is a new adventure. Love it!

Hi Toby,

This one is near Staniel Cay, but there are many of these along the Bahamas chain of islands. A few more from a different chain below. All very unique.

Nice lobsters those are brutes!

Oh man am I ready to head back to the Bahamas. Been going to (take your pick of tiny squiggly shaped bahamian cays) every year and missing the 2020 trip has left a hole in my heart.

In my mind nothing beats this laid back and safe country for the mix of riding conditions in the crystal clear water from flats to reef breaks plus being on one of the small skinny islands or cays means any wind direction is just fine, simply walk/golf cart/drive very short distance to where the wind is hitting the way you want it. Polespear fish and lobster on the calm days or just snorkel the beautiful reefs. Did I mention that ALL BEACHES ARE PUBLIC in the Bahamas? Plus conch salad, Oh what I would give for one raw acidic bite right now.

Between hurricane dorian and covid nixing travel for many the Bahamas has had a real rough go lately so Im more than ready to go asap and support them while enjoying a slice of kiteboarding heaven.

I hear you Greenturtle. I used to get in almost 20 trips per year to The Bahamas on the boat. All were adventure trips focused on Kite, Fish, and Spear. I really have very little interest left in going to traditional kite tourist destinations and prefer to put in a little extra energy to explore new locations even if it means a bit less wind. In all, I can say that The Bahamas are very hard to beat in this regard. I'm looking forward to hitting a few new spots this year, none of which will have ever been kited before. Below are a few videos of some past trips. Forgive the music. Everyone at work kills me for my selection, but some of these are old, and the remainder is just a commentary on my poor taste in music. In any case, I'm looking forward to going on a few more adventures in The Bahamas this year. Enjoy!

Crooked Island- "First Assault"

Exumas- "Blue Paradise"

Bimini- "old stuff, but shows the adventure opportunities that exist even in the near Bahamas"

Reviving an older thread, but any intel for the Exumas in late November? The average wind seems lighter but I don’t know if that means it’s spotty or if it’s light most of the day with a regular thermal.

If there’s wind at that time of year, is there any suggestion on which areas of the island are most conducive to foiling or kiting? Are there areas with enough depth for foiling?

Will be there with family and really hoping that it can double as a kite/wing trip.

Thanks!
