What year bar do you have? The older trimlites got stuck like that, the newer ones have a piece of black webbing sewn in to prevent the trim line from getting pulled in too far.
It is a '2017 1x 44 CM'. So, maybe not operator error after all ?
The photo shows an extreme example of the jam. In this state, the bungee cannot be pulled any further down through the cleat to enable it to be released and in any case it it still jammed in the stainless steel part.

I was out on my 12m Switchblade in lightish winds. I reached up on my recoil to depower and the instantly the kite flew much better. Later when the wind got gusty i needed power her up and down and it was easy on the fly...lol get it , on the fly... anyway...never used a trimlite only recoil.
The old and the new in the pic. Not much you can do except change the line or just dont pull it in too far. You would replace the line in any case when it gets too worn. It's real simple to do and there's a Cabrinha tech tip video on youtube showing how.

thanks - excuse the naivete, but the bottom one is the new one with the "black webbing sewn in to prevent the trim line from getting pulled in too far"? And the idea here is that one could just replace the line, and that wold then include the newer fix for lockups? Sounds simple.
Thanks for taking the trouble to post that comparison photo. Everything is now clear.
Given all the other general bitching and moaning and hating on Cabrinha on this forum, I am surprised that this is issue is not more widely recognised/discussed.

Yes. The part number is KS7TLLINE and the youtube video is below. BTW this video was made due to another issue with previous trimlines braking and actually shows the older version without the webbing. I would not cut the old one though as it is easy enough to undo the loop at the handle and keep the old one as a spare.

You could probably just hand sew a piece of light webbing on your existing line for now to mimic the "fix" instead of a full replacement.
I guess there's no harm in trying but it would need to be a strong tight fit otherwise it wont last long. Better would be to use an industrial sewing machine if you have access to one.
