it will be a long waiting for my new 2022 orbit sets!
when u mention raley, do u mean unhooked? i also fet every time i tried orbit, this kite ask u push your limit confy
I can imagine.. Kite stuff takes quite some time these days to arrive for everyone.
Yep, it doesn't have the most slack ofc, but it rides so far forward that you maintain good speed without needing much power.
Let go of my edge, unhooked, did a little pop and there I went!
Nothing spectacular but my buddy who was cruising behind me instantly yelled "wow! Where did that one come from?!".
And I replied "Good question, no idea! That kite just wanted it!"

Awesome, glad you like it and I could be of help. You're right: the kite always wants to fly around and loves being overpowered. Wait until you start looping it and get to see where it really shines. Start small
What do you mean rough compared to the Hyper and Edge? Do you mean harder to fly?
I did a mini loop in about 3m height. Already felt great and easy!
Nice pull, not catapulting forward. Quick and smooth and instantly upwards. I wouldn't have known how to crash with it!
With rough I mean that it was a bit gusty. Like a little gust and lull every second and the Orbit made me feel these wind "chops" quite a bit more. The Hyper was just smoothly sailing in comparison.
But at the same time, when a little longer gust came, I could instantly make use of it with the Orbit instead of barely noticing it.

I got my Set (8, 10 and 12, 95kg) of 2022 last week and could fly all of them yesterday and the day before. Coming from a switchblade 2016 - man i love the new stuff. The weather was perfect, the Wind not gusty, i felt so confident that i did try new stuff like darkslides, backroll and frontroll with kiteloop and landed them. I was around 8 hrs in total surfing, something never happened with the switchblades due to "long arms".
What i am not sure about:
- psi for 8, 10 and 12? The recommondation on the kite itself was...hmm.
- did ride the 8qm on 45cm bar width and 10qm Plus 12qm. Does the 12 really need the 55 Bar?
- the 12 made some noise (whistle sound) during riding?

PSI: It depends on how overpowered you ride. I usually only ride overpowered, so I go a bit overboard.
8m - as hard as you can pump it
9m - almost as hard as you can pump
10m - hard + 1-2 extra (probably 9ish)
12m - dunno, don't ride it. My 11m I do a little more than 8psi
Bar:
Personal preference. I ride all my Orbits on the medium bar on the larger setting (50cm).
Whistling sound:
It was annoying at first, but then got to prefer it. It's nice to know someone else is coming up or riding above you. I'm not sure if it's the lines or the bridles.

After having done a little bar "odyssey" over the last 2 years (Slingshot, North, Airush, Ozone, Eleveight), I can confirm that the North bar is whistling A LOT!
It has awesome lines but they do whistle.
No idea why it only happened with the 12. My North bar was whistling right at the first session with it while going in the water with my 9m and it never stopped.
Sold the bar after 5 sessions because I like to grab "from below" and the little 3D shape made it super slippery with gloves when doing so.
Awesome bar if you only grab it normally!
