Globe Kites Trix 2008

Recently picked up a second hand GK TRIX 2008.First kite Ive ever owned.So Heres the issue.I attempt to inflate it and she no hold air.So I do a little investigating and find the full valves have come loose from the “bladder”.
So my question is
A) Does Globe warranty these?
B) Is this a common issue and an easy fix?
It appears the valves are not glued in.Are they made that way to “give “ if over inflated?
The two main fills were loose along with the cables for the “ribs” that extend on the kite as well.
Anyone ever run into this issue?

You are surely not expecting a warranty on a 12 year old secondhand kite?
Globe kites have long ceased

You can buy replacement valves but they will possibly amount to more than you should have paid for that kite in the first place

So when the bladder was manufactured, how did they attach the valves to the bladders?Glue,etc? To look at these they seem to have never had an adhesive on them.Just laying in there.Don’t know if that was done to “give “ due to over inflation?

Valves aren't glued, they are welded. Which is typically adequate, but after many years, and depending on environment of storage, this bond can fail.
Invest in a tube of Aquaseal or something similar (flexible urethane glue) and reglue your valves. Clean, roughen, degrease, apply glue on both sides, wait till tacky, and assemble, keep pressed overnight. Repeat at will for other faulty valves. Bit time consuming, but cheap and easy to do.

It was a good kite and it still is, so it's worth it to get it back in shape.

I had 2 Globe Kite from 2007 the valve all came unglued one after the other. I had to replace or re-glue most of them. Get some aquaseal and re-glue them all because they will all come loose. Mine were Sonic great kite for the time other than the valves issues. That thing had 7 struts and 3 valves per struts plus the 2 main valves so many valves to go wrong..

One day you may need that kite to be reliable to save you, if in trouble - It's hard enough without using old kit.
You'll pi$$ more money on it, trying to fix it, than it's worth.
My guess it's like a piece of old lettuce now.

If you don't want to stump up for a new kite then try shops like these for used stuff.
Call them as the websites are often out of date.

Yep that's why I got rid of my old GKs I used to do these crazy long rides in the mangroves between islands going 15km away or more in crocodile country after a couple of incidents you get the feelings it's time for a new kite.

I don't know whether to laugh or to cry about this post.

I'm a penny pincher myself but I still buckle my seatbelt, stop at stop signs, and make sure the garbage disposal is off before sticking my hand in the drain. I also don't buy decade-old kites to learn how to kiteboard n expect some warranty or service from the manufacturer (that doesn't even exist anymore?).

Might want a few classes in common sense before picking up kiting. Hate to be rude - But would you buy 15-year old parachute and jump off a bridge? This post is kind of insulting, we have enough fatalities from competent people. I can't believe people here are advising him on repairing that kite that belongs in a MUSEUM. I don't see anything wrong with using older kites, when they were good ones to begin with. Of course if the kite had been used for 12 years, is all worn out, stretched out, if the bar is falling apart, or has had three hundreds of hours, then sure... But most likely, that kite had barely a season of usage overall, sat in a garage for a decade before the owner finally decided to move on and give it away, or sell it for a few dollars, or biff it.

There's a sort of consensus around here that 2006 would be the cut off in terms of old = obsolete, as that's where big depower appeared with SLE's bridles. Of course some companies released lemons way after that, and some still kind of do, but that's not the point.
