and new variants popping up all over the northern hemisphere which is 50 to 70% more catchable than the first one ,its a treat to humanity , just the speed that the original virus is mutating into something much worst should concern us all -nobody knows where this will end and it all paints a very dark picture of our future
it was originally thought it was just the old that were the worry but now its hitting the young too

i'm as pissed of as any of you are- i had 4 days lined up of onshores at my local beach after having a brilliant saturday landboarding day and i was revved up to go but then this kicks in, and rumours suggest lockdown could go on for quite a bit longer yet :duh:
EDIT-
just had a look at the BBC and its says on there "great concern for the south african variant", posted 4 mins ago on the main page ,and they are not sure if the vacine's developed will touch it so make of it what you will

U.K. media isn’t covering Pfizer’s statement
They have said it’s just as effective against both U.K. and SA variant today

Not sure if that is all that relevant for this thread, but if the vaccine doesn't work what do people suggest we do? Permanent lockdown? To use a phrase from another thread here - what is your "long game" then?

Any good kite spots in Belarus? Might be our only hope.
You are simply demonstrating how little you understand about these vaccines. No wonder you go on and on about your doubts about them in the other thread. The spike protein will not be changed completely in any new variants, as that would prevent it from working as an attachment point to our cells, so even a mutated spike protein will still have regions, called epitopes, that will be recognized by some of the polyclonal antibodies the vaccine induces our immune system to express. Even if the virus somehow mutated its spike protein to both function in attachment and evade all of the antibodies generated in our polyclonal response, we could easily reengineer the vaccines in short order to express the new variant.

Local reports are that police checking for Kitesurfers continues at Blouberg strand. You are kind of obvious with a kite flying above your head.
