Simply separate the adapters from both ends of the broken hose then replace the hose with anything which is a good interference fit. Garden hose, anything. Use zip ties to stop the adapters moving.
If you are like me and stuff the hose inside the kite bag, then be sure to wrap over the zip tie with hockey tape or bike tape or something - had it wear a hole in the canopy from a sharp edge
I put nothing in the bag with the kite, doing so only risks damaging the kite. Also after deflation to prevent damage I also partly screw in the valve and cover it over before rolling/folding the kite.

I try not to put anything in the bag either, but on occasion need to if I have a long walk. I appreciate the feedback everyone provided. I'm going to take IrieJohns advise and make up my own hose with the old fittings from WMFG hose. I'm hopeful I can easily find a hose that will not require zip ties or some type of compression fitting.

I had the same issue 2 years ago. I cut the broken hose off of the male piece and before I reinserted it I slid a section of bicycle tube over the hose 5 inch piece or so and then attached the hose to the male piece. Once the hose was connected tight I slid the bicycle tube up,the tube lessens the chance of the hose shearing at the end of the male adapter.seems to be holding up fine.
