check the chart here:
viewtopic.php?t=2399806&p=1017907

I'm sure I saw newer version of this, like 2017 or 18, but cannot find it now. Just google 'kite bars compatibility chart' and I bet you'll find it.
Anyway, the compatibility of core bars doesn't look good on 2015 version, bad luck.

That Bar sucks and is a high Y bar and should be used only with a Core kite of the same year because of it's safety system design.

You can use any four line bar, high or low V all works.
Meaning the other way also, all 4 line kites will work with your bar :thumb:

Maybe you have to change loops and knots, but really easy.

FALSE!

Core bars (even in 2021) don't have a single line flagout and thus won't be safe to use on other brands! Some even argue about the safety on Core kites itself, go figure....
Also other bars that flag on both front lines (Fone monolith, North pre 2015 etc) are unsafe to use.

A modern four line low split single line flagout bar will work on any four line kite. Just need some tuning or swapping out pigtails to make them fit. All other details like low/high V, bar throw and trim length are up to personal preference.

I, sort of, agree with both Peter and Evan depending on the definition of work and safe, plus how powered you are riding. Unless you trial it there is, arguably, no way of telling whether a flag system will work well enough with a particular bridle for your definition of safe. Obviously kites designed for the same type of flag are likely to work on the same type of bar.

Core have an unusual flag system, which if I recall correctly, is a cross between single line and mini 5th, both fronts held but one longer than the other. However I am not aware whether there is anything special with their bridles. If their bridles are just a modern short bridle it suggests to me that their flag system would work with many other kites of similar size bridle.

Sorry I can’t give you a definitive answer as I have never flown core but I hope this helps with understanding the relevant criteria.

PS no consideration of distance of V from kite in the above!

Well, if one dont like the two frontlines (mini 5th?) as a safety system, it wont be better nor worse if you use it on another typical LEI.

And the OP have been using this system beforehand on another kite I assume?

If not, and a used bar he got, then I would hesitate, if it doesnt have a single line flagout, agree.

Can someone show exactly how this bar works, so we can find out once and for all?
If there is something very odd, then we need to know, and might eat our words.

It will also be important to know which model(s) and year, if they have changed over time.

Here is how the core bars work:

viewtopic.php?p=1136253#p1136253

1 power line gets pulled 4.5m (100%) and the other one 2.25m (50%) making it a system somewhere in between double and single line flagout but does definitely not flag on kites with fixed or minimal pulley bridles.

There is nothing to like or not about double front line flagout. The kites it is designed for have bridles that are fully supported by pulleys on long bridles so they can tilt all the way back once the load is gone on the back lines. Most modern tube kites have gone the route of minimal bridle design with only 1 pulley at most that can travel 1m maximum.
Letting the backlines go slack by a few meters only gives the same effect as pushing the bar out while maximum trimmed and thus won't kill the power in high winds making the use of a double line flagout bars on those kites extremely dangerous!

See photo for bar I was referring to: Thanks for the info on the bridles Evan. What is the definition of “very odd”?

curious..
have you ever tried using that core bar?
or..have you ever seen that core bar flagged out in a "dangerous" high wind environment?
is person? on youtube? really anywhere but your imagination?
i'd love to see a video of this dangerous kite gear..

but pretty sure peter frank speaks the truth here

oh and i own that core bar and i've used it on LEI clouds and souls, peak4s, peter lynn foil kites...
pretty sure i've landed a soul by flagging it out with a core bar.

i don't own core kites...nor have ever used the bar with a other LEIs besides a 10.4m BRM cloud

it does what all bars do...it eliminates rear line tension..
core does their way..iirc...so you can relaunch easier.

LEI kites are usually pump rigidly.. does it really matter if is 1 or 2 or hybrid line safety?
the purpose of the flagging our is to redude both the lift and angle of deflection.. ie kills the power.
it is not voodoo.. it is the bernoulli principle

and the core bar accomplishes both...

that said.. it's been years since i used that core bar.. and is possible i'm speaking straight out my ass
