Do you take your Gopro out on the water as is, or do you use a watertight protective case?

I just use it as is. GoPro’s after the 5th or 6th one didn’t need a housing anymore.
Are you asking about the clear dive housing? I think they are mostly for scuba diving.
So far haven’t had any issues

In extreme cold weather (-20c) diving case will make gopro8 battery survive better. But no need in summer
