Any idea what they are doing Toby? I was at Cauipe a few weeks ago and the lagoon was very very small. I also missed the beer/food shack that used to be on the beach between the lagoon and the ocean. But I know you have to crack eggs to make an omelette, so hopefully the omelette is good!
yes, I know. talking every time I am there with a local who is taking care of it.
Important is to keep the corners for flat water...I will personally be after this.
The lagoon gonna be big! They take a lot of sand away towards the river...making it much bigger there.
Plus 50m on ocean side.
Everyone is very excited about this project. We are very lucky with the new major, who is behind all this.
Right now water is very low, and will get even lower...since sand will be taken out and it will distribute in all new areas.
But, good timing to do it now...before rainy season hits.
There are downwind many barracas where you can sit, relax, eat and drink. All on the side have been taken down, since all are illegal.
soon they should also start to take all old barracas down, and replace them by pretty new ones.
Light gets also installed downwind...let's see if it will be strong enough that even night kiting could be possible!
