Value on Like-new Peter Lynn Bomba 17

Postby Smylesjo » Mon Sep 27, 2021 3:51 pm

I have a Peter Lynn bomba 17 and have no idea what it’s worth. I can’t find ANY information on it at all online. It was given to me years back by a family friend that used it once and never touched it again. Still has the original owners manual and instructional video tape. What is this thing worth?! I know it’s old but hopefully it held its value over the years. Any information helps, thanks!

It's a really old model - like 17+ years. Most kite gear does not hold much value after 6-7 years... With that said, it is worth more than a LEI of the same generation and could still fly fine so not completely worthless...just not worth much I'm afraid.

I could imagine a wide fork, depending on if the buyer understands what it is. Excellent kite for learning / teaching (big learner). Pass it on for 50 (ok 80) bucks to someone as a good gesture. Also needs a bar, adding expense to get riding.

Some advice, but if a newbie wants to buy, please make every effort that he/she has studied up on basics & safety.

Had one in 2004, which was the year it came out. The Bomba was a sturdy kite and should age well if its looked after. Also will fly on standard bar and lines (not old Fone). And I see them online in uk for about £50-90. Not my favourite Peter Lynn kite, had limited wind range and sat too low in the window due to its low aspect ratio compared to the later Venom's.
