BIG KITE "TEST" for BIG GUYS
Now I have used for years & days the Core Xr3 15, Xr4 17, Xr5 15, Duotone Juice 17, Ozone Edge 17 & 19.
I am 114 kgs 202 cm 54 years and been kiting since 2000.
The Xr3 15 (years) and the Xr5 15 (days) have to be the exact same kite, I cant feel any difference betveen them, they have lots of low end power for the sice because of high caber and therefore lifts and jumps realy well without the need for full power to do that, but it also lowers the riding speed and upwind angle. they also turns the same nice, smooth and relaunches realy easy. they have medium bar pressure on the lightest setting.
The Xr4 17 (years) have less camber (so it pulls about the same as the XR3 and Xr5 in 15m2) so it sits furter forward in the wind window and therefore gives a 10-20% faster ride and a lot better upwind angles. It makes me feel younger and more fit
but It needs close to full power to jump realy well. This is possible the best fun easy and allround 17m kite for TT riding for most Big riders and beginners. everything is so easy on this kite.
The Duotone Juice 17 (1/2 year) is super smooth, it makes gusty conditions so easy, and it turns super smooth, it feels like it is spesial made for foiling in light wind. And it has light bar pressure.
The Ozone Edge 17 v8 (days) is my new TT favourit, it feels like the Xr4 17 but with 5-10% more power and a little more direct angry feeling, time will show, but it feels like this one is the best one getting the highest jumps, but the Xr4 feels more easy overall.
The Edge 19 (years) is a lot bigger and way more powerfull than any other 17m tube kite I have tried. its ultralight built, so it ways less kgs than the Edge 14, so it stays up in light wind wery well. The hang time is fantastic on this big kite, so learning new trix feels more easy and safe on this kite. If you are a realy BIG guy who wants to ride a TT in low wind on a fast lightwind board, this is the kite for you. (On my SS Glide, if anyone is able to kite on a TT no matter theyr sice I can to. Many times I am the only one out there on a TT.
But I have started foiling this season, so now my biggest kite is going to the beach will be a 17.
Hope this can help some of you BIG guys
