What is up with this kite hey?
I think they are starting to hit the dealers.
They changed at least the wingtip shape, probably the whole design a bit.
The thing is - about the weight (lack thereof!)
Published weight is as light (or lighter!) than a d/lab juice but at a better price point than the full aluula kites from either brand. Also with the dacron le if it gets nicked etc can get it patched up anywhere without special materials or specific knowledge.
The Flite is a long standing favorite of many, myself included. How does the new shape change it etc??? Is this better? or a “should have left it alone”?
Obviously the weight saving sounds great and I do trust OR to make it hold up also.
They list the 14.5m at 2.8kg
Lets hear it from people who have flown the kite. Anybody?
i have tested already the new Flite, but in its Aluula version. Personally, i like much more the new one compared to the previous version. It feels more compact, and definitely has better lift and hangtime. I would say its high-end is also better. It really is a great light wind kite but also works great for people who like to make some boards-off and fly around!
If you are near Tarifa or visit it soon, let us know, we have some demos for people to test. Really a GREAT kite!
About the weight, i cant still confirm, but new Craves and Roams HL are extremly light compared with other traditional kites!
I am hesitating to buy a HL flite for lower price than full Alula ; does anyone has tested the HL vs full aluula Flite ? (low end, high end , agility and jump height ?
Is the design exactly the same appart the dacron instead of aluula ? For example, is the leading edge similar or is it reduced diameter like on the roam Aluula ?
in far less wind now, low end limit but impressive for a LEI ...
That looks great. How do you think the lowend of the 14.5 Flite HL compares to a Soul 12 and Juice Dlab 13?
My spot is a gusty lake. There are some days where I am a bit earlier on the water than the Dlab 13 kiters. But there are far more days where both the dlabs and the Soul go down because the wind is gone or because of a steering mistake. The dlabs will restart with the next gust while my soul often is twisted. So I have to unwrap it, water enters and it woulf take a much longer gust to pump the water out of the soul to relaunch it.
The dlab is still too pricy. But the Flite HL is cheaper. But has it a similat lowend?
I have not tried the Juice D-lab for comparison, sorry.
Overall, basic rule but most often true for a skilled rider: the mhigher surface , the lowest low-end, and Flite has an excellent shape for light wind ; so compared to 13 Juice , I would bet for lower end waterstart and ride with Flite HL 14.5 but Juice should stay at the zenith with a bit less wind;
I would say similar with the Soul : fly in a bit less wind (but not that much because the Soul is not the lightest foilkite at all) ; but Soul 12m would need more wind to water start that Soul should be maybe just a bit better to stay in the air but needs a bit more wind to waterstart; " a priori" from cross comparisons , my best guess let's say.

I am more and more frustrated by my 12m Soul and have good offers for a new Flite HL maybe you can help me with choosing the right size.
I weight 75kg naked and foil on gusty lakes. I use the 12m Soul 75% of the time and want ro replace it with the Flite HL. I like to ride powered and jump. 14,5m might be big but I fear that 12m will cost me too much lowend compared to my Soul and it will be also too close to my SST 10m. What do you think?

I have the aluula 12 flite, bottom end compared to Soul isn't that good..
If I were to buy again - the 14.5 would be my choice and you can still loop it..
Same weight as you.
