Heading to TCI for the month of Feb. Any concerns about the gang bangers and all the recent crime?

No. The caicos bank is one of the safest pool to kite 😁 But like all place in the world… be careful where you go, how you behave and everything will be fine. I have been going to the TCI several times a year for over 10 years. Fantastic place. And yes it has changed… but security is not one of the change I felt. That being said I don’t do bars, casino, night club or fancy restaurants….

Too bad Canada in the 1970s refused the request of Turks and Caicos to join Canada
Really!

I will be there half of January and most of February.

Rent a car several months in advance, as they book up quick. Lodging *close* to Long Bay is preferable if you want to kite in the best spot.
Budget will be your largest constraint there.

I’m here now! last several days of 15-20 kts. Wind came down and looking low for a bit.

Great spot for beginners and any flatwater progression. surprised there aren’t more advanced kiters here. Wind is pretty consistent and it’s a beautiful spot.

No real concerns about the crime. I find crime is generally overblown by press and if you have your wits about you, most places can be safe. Crime is almost never random.
