Toby I don't know anyone who foils who has cut themselves significantly, or anyone who is worried about it. By all means stick with your style and preference but don't discount foiling based on that - there are also safer "less sharp" choices among the many brands and wings now.
The greater risk for most kite foilers is defecting to the wing foil!
just feedback from my friends who do it. Happy to hear it is safe and they don't need to worry...will let them know

I personally know of three people who have been cut by foils badly enough to have to be off the water for 2-3 months and all needed stiches. One ear, one leg and one chest through a wetsuit. Not sure if the newer foils are less sharp, though. Or if they were cut by the front or rear of the wings or mast or if that would matter.

Doesn't it depend on what you do? I only foil in light wind mostly on flat water and never been close to cutting myself not even the slightest cut. When it's windy and waves I use my surfboard.
If you do all kind of tricks or even just a back roll on a foil I would assume the chance of getting cut increases dramatically. Also riding waves and getting smashed by a wave would also increase the risk.

We shouldn't write about cuts by foils here..
I wonder where decay is going? I am a little shocked.
It was (also) because of him I was convinced to ride Airush. Thanks for that, Decay!

Very close....hum, you like to tease us
Very close can be 1. Work with Bruno (high pressure kite or wing brand) and 2. Relaunch an old brand. Which could it be, that shut down early?

Will Pete cabrinha be involved?
He is out of cabrinha..
But maybe there is too long from Hawaii and south Africa for Pete and DK to have a connection? I don't know anything..

In the industry you will meet everyone somewhere for sure. I am sure they know each other personally.
I think Pete is fine financially and follows his path of painting.

When everything is going south, you should go North.
That's my forecast!
