Nice! I think I counted 6 heliloops. It is hard to tell from the video, but I got the impression he did not unspin the bar to keep line twists at bay. And if he did not, I wonder how much impact it had on controllability.

did woo recently start couting those long jumps?
They used to just filter out most boosts over 15sec, pissing people :-)
Although woo provided explanation why they had to do it as accuracy of distance measuring goes out of the window with time.

I don't think this is a world record though.. people were catching all sorts of weird drafts before and 30 second boosts are not that uncommon

still very impressive.. Congrats..

maybe only one recorded yet as you mentioned? Let's call it WOO World Record.

There have been plenty videos of guys getting upwinds and flying for a long time, but they had no Woo.

Anyway, it's cool !

as I mentioned, woo used to drop those long jumps, pissing people..
I know a few local guys who posted videos of 17+second jumps while riidng with the woo but those jumps were dropped from the woo sesison...
If you look at the woo leaderboards, there are maybe 10 guys with hangtime over 15seconds, then 100s of guys slightly under 15seconds..
To me that says that woo uses 15 seconds as a cutoff..
So the question is why they made some exceptions for the 10 guys on the top? Maybe just for brand promotion using big names for promo clips?

It has nothing to do with brands it's simply the progress of woo's algorithm to be able to record those jumps they have been pushing a lot of updates. And it should be a lot better with woo 4 as it has 10x the computing power of woo 3

I can see such records will always be "the talk".

To me they are fun indeed, but nothing special.

Being a glider pilot, and also hang and paraglider, besides kitesurfer - such gigantic hangtimes will occur now and then over water.

Shear winds or thermals or even shore ridges acting as a catalyst for sea thermals.
Extremely common.

I would find seing riders jumping at the same spot and then taking the 5 highest jumps in average, omitting the two highest ones (or what will work), as a much more fair competition which would give respect :thumb:

well, that one, as well as any other extreme jump in Leucate area is actually 'mountain thermal' [aka tramontana https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tramontane]
