Headed to Yucatán, for a week. Flying into but Trying to avoid Cancun. Saw a great youtube video on kiting in Yucatán, but thought I’d ask here if anyone had ideas.

Current plans is to el cuyo , looks chill.

I was in Progreso for 4 months last year and the kiting was great. But you only have a week and I don’t think it’s worth your travel time for only a week long trip. I would say El Cuyo is a good choice. Closer to Cancun you also have Holbox and Isla Blanca as options. I think the north shore of the Yucatán peninsula has better wind, but if you luck out Isla Blanca could be pretty good. The setup there looks pretty awesome if the wind is good.

the nearest spot to Cancun is the Marina in Cancun ;-) you have to contact one of them to enter at "private beach" area

El Cuyo is a great choice for kiting. If you're looking for other alternatives, Holbox and Isla Blanca are also good options. I have been to Mexico before, though kiting was not included in my itinerary. But I saw a lot of people kiting in Holbox and El Cuyo. I hired a local guide from https://gowithguide.com/mexico/guides Maybe they can help you with kiting packages as well.
